How to collect weapons in Starfield
You can pull out your favorites bar at any time by selecting PC version Q or in any direction D-pad on Xbox. You can assign all sorts of items here, including weapons–and you’ll want to. Without adding your favorite weapons to this bar, you’ll have to pause the game completely and visit the inventory menu every time you want to swap weapons, which can be quite a cumbersome task.

To add a weapon to your favorites, go to your inventory and open your weapon list, then choose the weapon you want to add and select favorite button/key listed in the lower right corner of the screen. From here, you can choose which part of your favorites bar you want to place your weapon. Place it where you find it most convenient and you can switch to that weapon at any time during combat.
