The LG Gram Style comes with a 14-inch 2.8K (2880X1800) OLED display or a 16-inch 3K (3200×2000) OLED display. The Lenovo Yoga 9i (2023) comes with two 14-inch OLED displays: a 2.8K (2880×1800) option and a WQUXGA (3840×2400) one.
Both displays have the same numbers of pixel density, brightness, and color game DCI-P3, which means they look the same. However, only the Yoga 9i’s display has HDR500 support, which makes it even better when viewing high-quality content. Likewise, all Gram Style displays have a 120Hz refresh rate, while the 2.8K Yoga 9i screen has a 90Hz refresh rate, and the WQUXGA only has a 60Hz refresh rate. This gives the Gram style an edge when it comes to watching content with a lot of movement, such as action movies or sports. 90Hz will remain strong for software applications.
One or the other perhaps being a better choice, but only if you have strong HDR or high-motion preferences. Other than this minor difference, every show is great. Many would struggle to tell the difference between the two in a side-by-side comparison, so in the end, you can’t go wrong with either.

The Gram version ran very hot during our testing, causing the processor to vibrate due to overheating. This is no longer limited to our sample unit, as many other reviewers have failed to replicate LG’s acceptable results. So, the numbers speak for themselves here.
Both laptops are equipped with Intel Iris Xe graphics, which can handle basic video and light gaming but not multi-tasking. And although the CPU benchmarks are a little behind the Gram Style, both laptops feel easy and responsive to use. They’re all still functional laptops, after all. However, users of CPU-intensive applications will see the processor falter on the Gram Style, so the win goes to the Yoga 9i.
Battery life
In terms of battery, the Lenovo Yoga 9i also has a slight advantage, although the 14-inch and 16-inch LG Gram Style also have larger batteries. The Gram version has a 72Wh battery in its 14-inch version and an 80Wh battery in its 16-inch version. The Yoga 9i (2023) has a 75Wh battery in all options. On paper, you’d think the Yoga 9i would have a slightly longer battery life, and this was partially confirmed by our testing.
When we tested the Yoga 9i, it lasted about six hours at various settings. The lowest usage we got was 4 hours and 40 minutes, and the highest was 6 hours and 31 minutes. When we tested the 16-inch LG Gram Style, we also reached six hours of battery life in good condition. To be fair, we had between 4 hours 8 minutes and 4 hours 33 minutes. We haven’t been able to test the 14-inch version of the Gram Style, but based on the numbers provided, it’s fair to expect it to have similar, if not better, performance compared to the 16-inch, if smaller version. the display should be low power. That said, the Yoga 9i has yet to win.

The Yoga 9i has the upper hand in almost every important feature that can be compared to these two machines, and this makes Lenovo’s reputation a better one here. It achieves higher CPU benchmarks than the Gram Style despite having the same processor, so it’s much better in terms of performance. And while all laptops have a sleek design, the Yoga 9i’s is a tablet that can be used with an integrated stylus, so it also wins for creative use. Its battery life is slightly better, too, making it a solid option for users on the go. Ultimately, you can’t go wrong with the Yoga 9i (2023).
