Razer has taken one of its most successful mice, the Viper Mini Signature Edition, and made it 24K gold.
Essentials
- The Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition now features 24K gold, created as a one-off project by Razer’s CEO, Min-Liang Tan.
- Although the gold mouse looks amazing, its durability can be questionable due to the softness of 24K gold.
- If you’re not looking for a high-end version, you can still buy the Viper Mini Signature Edition for $230, which offers better performance and responsiveness.
The Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition was announced at the beginning of the year and is a real monster of a mouse, especially with its latest update that brings 8KHz resolutions. If you thought the Viper Mini Signature Edition couldn’t be more successful, prepare to be surprised, as Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan has revealed a version made from 24K gold.
Now, don’t expect to go to your local electronics retailer to pick up this mouse, as it looks like it was made once. Tan shared photos of the 24K gold mouse on X (formerly Twitter), also revealing that the mouse was a “one-off project”. Tan didn’t share the price or how much it sold for, but you can bet it was a ridiculous amount.
Although it is very beautiful, one has to wonder how durable it will be in use. Of course, this is not just a demonstration, but if someone tries to use this brand every day, there is a chance that it might not be sustainable. 24K gold is the purest form of the material, and is very soft. Of course, it is not known if the entire chassis is made from gold or if there is a support on the bottom and the 24K gold is just polished.
Regardless, sometimes it’s fun to see these creatures in the wild, especially when they were created by the original creator. With that said, you can pick up the $230 Viper Mini Signature Edition if you want a wireless, responsive and lightweight gaming mouse.
