Microsoft has just released Windows 11 build 22621.2262 and build 22631.2262 (KB5029339) to the Windows Insider Beta Channel. Build 22631.2262 is for those who have the latest updates coming out and build 22621.2262 is for those who have the latest updates turned off by default. This is what Microsoft calls the LCU update, meaning it brings a lot of new features to those who have built 22631.2262. Among the new features is a redesigned start page, and backups.
If you are having trouble downloading this tool, you can start the download manually. There is a known bug in this design that may have disabled the Check for Updates button in Windows 11 settings. Just run and enter the USOClient StartInteractiveScan command.
Everything new in Windows 11 Beta Channel build 22631.2262
Starting with the new content, there are changes to the home page in build 22631.2262. It moves things around a bit so that the settings are flexible and customizable and you can quickly see the things that are most important to your device. There are cards for using account settings, cloud storage, restoring your account, Microsoft 365, settings, Xbox, and Bluetooth devices. If you’re wondering what’s changed in some designs that don’t come with new features, TL; DR says it’s not much. There are the usual bug fixes and patches. There are other things that are known that affect the construction of both. Here’s what you need to know.
- We fixed an issue that caused the “Check for updates” button to not appear as expected under Settings > Windows Update. After updating these builds, the “Check for updates” button should appear as expected. If you are on the previous Beta Channel tour, you can manually check for updates by opening the Windows Terminal (or Run dialog) and entering the USOClient StartInteractiveScan command that will do the same thing by clicking the “Check for updates” button in Windows Update. . Note that running the command does not show any output. To verify that the process was successful, you can run the command while the Windows Update page is open. You should see your device checking for updates.
- Fixed an issue where removing the monitor while connected to Cloud PC could result in a black screen with only the mouse being visible in recent builds.
- We are working to fix an issue that causes explorer.exe to crash at the login screen when trying to enter safe mode.
